The Forbury Clinic is committed to conducting business ethically, with integrity, and with respect for human rights. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms within our operations and supply chains.
Modern slavery is a crime and a fundamental violation of human rights. It takes various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. The Forbury Clinic maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all such forms of exploitation.
Our Organisation and Structure
The Forbury Clinic, based in Reading, Berkshire provides high-quality private healthcare services in areas such and Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology and GP services. Diagnostic procedures and specialist treatments are also provided. We operate within the United Kingdom and are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Berkshire Health Limited is a privately owned company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 07238700), trading as The Forbury Clinic.
Our Commitment

Policies and Governance
We have implemented and maintain policies that reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity, including:
- Code of Conduct – ensuring all staff uphold the highest standards of professional behaviour.
- Procurement and Supplier Policy – requiring suppliers to comply with all relevant laws and ethical business practices.
- Whistleblowing Policy – encouraging staff to report any concerns about unethical or illegal practices without fear of retaliation.
- Safeguarding and Recruitment Policies – ensuring appropriate background checks and protection measures for patients and staff.
Due Diligence in Supply Chains
Our supply chains primarily include medical equipment suppliers, pharmaceutical providers, facilities management services, and professional service partners. We recognise that high risk areas of our supply chain would include the providers of single-use instruments and personal protective equipment.
We assess suppliers based on ethical practices, labour standards, and compliance with applicable legislation. New suppliers must confirm adherence to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and demonstrate transparent labour practices.
Training and Awareness
We provide staff training and awareness programmes to help employees:
- Recognise indicators of modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Understand how to report concerns.
- Appreciate the importance of ethical procurement and safeguarding principles.
Risk Assessment and Ongoing Improvement
We regularly review our operations and supply chains to identify potential risks. Where higher risks are identified, we will engage directly with suppliers and take appropriate action, including audits or termination of contracts where necessary.
We are committed to continuous improvement and will continue to enhance our procedures to prevent modern slavery.
Responsibility and Review
The responsibility for overseeing this statement and its implementation rests with the Board of Directors of Berkshire Health Limited. This statement is reviewed annually and updated as appropriate by The Forbury Clinic’s management team and submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.
